Police has arrested several supporters of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change – FDC in a standoff at the party headquarters on Najjanankumbi were the security force has been camped since last evening ahead of Amuriat’s nomination slated for today.

The arrested were making way to gather at the party headquarters from where they were planning to escort their presidential flag bearer Patrick Amuriat Oboi to Kyambogo for nomination.

Despite a warning by the Electoral Commission against processions, Amuriat came out publicly to say that he would hold one nonetheless.

To this moment, Amuriat is still confined in his home by security forces and has been denied a pass to meet other party officials.

Leader of Opposition in Parliament Betty Aol Ochan says she doesn’t know the whereabouts of the FDC flag bearer, less than 3 hours to his appointment with the EC.

Patrick Amuriat is scheduled for nomination at 12:00 midday.
