Soroti Municipality MP Herbert Ariko survived death during the weekend.
This was after armed thugs stormed his residence in Soroti a move that prompted the security guards to and the goons to exchange bullets.
Police confirmed that some thugs attacked MP Ariko’s home in Mbalwa, Namugongo and threw stones, smashing the MP’s car. The MP was not hurt during the scuffle.
The security guards at Ariko’s home responded by firing live bullets prompting the thugs to disperse.
Mbalwa Police officers led by ASP Jackline Nabimanya, Mbalwa OC Station were immediately notified but could not trace the thugs who had already disappeared.
