Makerere University has released the official admission lists for government sponsored students for A ‘ Level applicants for the academic year 2020/2021. The courses listed are tenable at Makerere University and Makerere University Business School (MUBS) respectively. (See lists below)
Also released is the Public Universities Joint Admissions Board cut off points for government admissions in 142 courses at Makerere and Business School (MUBS). The board releases fresh cut-off points every academic year for academic programmes under the Private Sponsorship Scheme.
At least 103,000 Senior Six leavers applied for undergraduate government sponsorship in different public universities last year. However, the 2020 UACE results indicate only 65,723 passed with a minimum of two principal passes and would, therefore, qualify for university admission.
Makerere University and its Nakawa based business school will jointly admit only 1,481students on different programmes. The other eight public universities are yet to declare their admission lists. Usually, Makerere University admits almost half of the available slots.
The statement from the Office of the Academic Registrar does not however state when the University will resume, as with other institutions, they were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
