Unknown assailants last night killed and hanged the Mutara sub county chairman Jackson Kaginda at Kanyamabona near Ishaka town Bushenyi district.

Kaginda was on his way back from Kampala International University Teaching Hospital to drop his father in-law who was not feeling well.

It is believed that on his way back, suspected thugs allegedly intercepted him, ordered him out of his car killed him and hanged him on a nearby tree.

Kaginda has been the Mutara Sub County chairman since 2002 and has been influential in the politics of greater Bushenyi and Mitooma.

Before Bushenyi was split in to five districts, Kaginda and Karukiiko Eldard of Kyeizooba would receive direct calls from President Museveni asking about development programmes in the district.
