I am not interested in Ivan’s property-Zari tells off Semwanga’s family

Socialite Zari Hussein has told off the family of her late ex husband that she has enough to look after herself and her children, insisting that she is not interested is Semwanga’s property but the kids with whom they produced.

There had been counter accusations about Ivan’s property with Ivan’s relatives issuing verbal threats to Zari regarding Ivan’s money, houses and cars.

Zari who struggled to be calm as she delivered her first public speech following Ivan’s death said that she was herself raised by a single mother and that she could raise the three sons he produced with Ivan on her own.

The boss lady said that she is inspired by her mother and would raise her kids in honour of her mother and children.

“My mother raised me single handedly and taught me to be strong. I will do the right thing for her and the boys,” Zari told the mourners who nodded in acknowledgement.

Zari who seemed irritated by the harsh treatment from Ivan’s relatives assured mourners at Namirembe Cathedral that her kids have been going to expensive schools and it would be a mistake to leave them with Ivan’s family since they can’t afford to keep the kids in world class schools.

Zari’s bold comments sent Ivan’s relatives into panic mode, forcing one of Ivan’s uncles to retract unwelcoming comments he had made about Zari.

One of the Semwanga’s uncles who identified himself as Herbert Luyinda told journalists shortly after Ivan’s death   Zari was not a recognized widow and therefore had no share on Ivan’s property.

However, following Zari’s remarks, Luyinda who wore a sheepish smile was quick to beg for forgiveness due to his reckless statements.

“I apologize for any mistakes that I made. Let us stay together,” Luyinda said.

Semwanga who died following a stroke in Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa last week will be laid to rest on Tuesday in Kayunga district.
