Information has ripe that police was looking for former Uganda Broadcasting Corporation managing director Paul Kihika and as it was expected the former UBC boss has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Shs3 billion company cash during his time as the MD.

Kihika is said to have pocketed the money meant for company work when he entered a deal with telecom company Airtel to broadcast live world cup football games in 2014.

Paul Kihika was arrested on Wednesday evening and meaning looking police officers rushed him to Criminal Investigations Division headquarters in Kibuli a Kampala suburb.

After interrogation at the CID, the former UBC boss was hurriedly transferred to Jinja Raod Police Station where he is currently going to spend his first night in police cells.

Earlier, police had summoned the embattled former MD of the struggling national broadcaster but he declined to honour the summons.

This prompted police to swing into action to thoroughly look for Kihika who had escaped from both of his known homes in Wakiso district earlier this week.
