Jinja High Court Judge Eva Luswata has announced her pullout from the ongoing treason case against Rwenzururu king Charles Wesley Mumbere citing disrespect of court decisions with respect to the recent incident when the monarch was re-arrested after being granted bail.
In a meeting with Court Registrar Jesse Byaruhanga and Justice Michael Eludu, Luswata cried foul play by police for disobeying and under looking her decision to grant King Mumbere his constitutional mandate of bail.
“This is total disrespect and humiliation to my orders as the presiding judge” Luswata said.
Following clear scrutiny of his sureties on January 13 who included Constantine Bwambale the former Rwenzururu kingdom premier, Opposition Leader Winnie Kiiza, Robert Centenary the Kasese Municipality MP, Atikins Katusabe of Bukonzo West, William Nzoghu of Busongora North and Tonny Muhindo of Bukonzo of East, Luswata agreed to grant the king bail.

The re-arrest exercise turned more dramatic when Police did not spare the State Minister of Agriculture Christopher Kibazanga from being arrested together with his elder brother Mumbere.
To her embarrassment, the king was immediately rearrested as he was leaving the court premises by police and action that Andrew Felix Kaweesi the police force spokesman defended arguing they still needed more evidence from him.
