Dokolo By-election: NRM kicks off Adongo’s Campaign in high gear

The NRM campaign team will hit the ground running to seek the support of their flagbearer, Janet Adongo Rose Elau, in the Dokolo district woman MP by-election. The five-day campaign period will kick off tomorrow, Thursday 14th until 19th next week.

Mrs. Adongo was nominated this week, on Monday, by the electoral commission. She will be tussling it out with six other candidates from the opposition political parties and independents.

The NRM camp, led by the Director of Mobilisation, Hon. Rosemary Seninde, and area legislators, Hon. Felex Okot Ogong of Dokolo North and Dokolo South’s Hon. Moses Goli, rallied Adongo’s campaign agents and the party’s district structure leadership today to traverse villages and mobilise for votes.

Seninde said they have been meeting with NRM leaders at the sub-county level to reinforce and guide them about their roles and responsibilities of combing grass root support.

“Every one of you is a cadre who doesn’t require whipping. I urge you to take it personally during the search for Janet Adongo’s victory,” Hon. Seninde said as she commissioned teams to go out and campaign.

Seninde also discouraged the leaders from supporting other candidates out of excitement, emphasizing that their decisions may have far reaching implications on the progress and development of Dokolo district.

“This by-election should be used as an opportunity to lobby for more services from the NRM government. You even have a chance to address your concerns to President Museveni who will be visiting the district to campaign for Mr. Adongo,” Seninde added.

Seninde on register up

Hon. Seninde has reminded all NRM members to go to their village registrars to register or check for their membership in an exercise that began today until Sunday 17th.

“It is the register that will enable everyone in the party to participate in the internal activities like electing flag bearers in the primary elections of 2026 general elections,” she said.
