President Museveni Youth Fish Project in Kanungu District Gets a Boost

Haji Shafiq Sekandi Sengooba, the RDC Kanungu on Saturday handed over 1,100 kgs of fish feeds to the Kanungu District youth at the fish ponds located in Kihihi Town Council.

The RDC clarified that the feeds worth 6m came as support from Kanungu District Local Govt. He assured the youth that the State House is looking for funds to connect electricity to the project and added that REA procured the transformer for the area recently.

Hon. Magara Deus the Secretary for Production thanked the youth for having restocked the ponds from the small savings.

Col. Bob OWC was happy to hear that many schools bring learners to study from the fish project.

Nkwasibwe Godwin the District production officer pledged continued support of the department to the fish project.

Molly Kamugira the new Assistant Fisheries Officer supervising the project told the team that if feeding is consistent, the fish in Mandela and Lumumba ponds will be on the market around August this year.

Hon. Loick deputy Speaker and New Chairperson of the project thanked the President for having started the fish project for the youth in Kanungu and assured that she has a committed team. She commended Eng. Sam Kajojo the District Chairperson and the entire Kanungu District Council for supporting the team.

The project Pioneer Chairperson and Patron Mr Eliab Naturinda and Dixon Kagurusi laid a strong sustainable path that has kept the project  progress through different teams.
