Uganda’s Winnie Nanyondo Through to Women’s 1500m Semi-Finals

Ugandan middle distance runner Winnie Nanyondo has extended her stay at the Tokyo 2020 olympics after she booked herself a slot in the Women’s 1,500m semifinals.

Nanyondo who came second behind Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon in the Monday morning Heat 3 race clocked 4:02:24 while the race’s winner clocked 4:01:40.

In the race she set her personal best time in the 1,500m metre race after bettering her previous time of 4:17:13 which she posted in Kawasaki, Japan on May 10th, 2015.

The Kampala University student of Industrial art and design will be lining up for the semifinals slated to take place on Wednesday August 4th at 1:13PM.
