Just when we thought the wave of firing and restructuring among Ugandan companies due to the novel Coronavirus Pandemic was coming to an end, Nation Media Group has released a document in which it has informed employees of some more restructuring which will see many lose their jobs.

Nation Media Group (NMG) is mother to the Daily Monitor, The East Africa, NTV, Spark TV, KFM among others.

In a letter released early today, the administration of NMG cited that due to COVID-19 disruptions, the company would be forced to ‘re-engineer’ adding that this will reduce on their work force.

“…Regrettably it will also result in reduction of our workforce effective Wednesday March 31st 2021,” the letter reads.

The company also said that they have made special arrangements for all inconvenienced staff. “We have made special arrangements for those affected to receive specialized counselling support,” the letter partly reads.
