In 2019, as Musician cum Politician Robert Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine started his journey towards becoming the president of the mighty republic of Uganda, he released a song that many National Unity Platform (NUP) fanatics know by heart however, it is very sad that the music video for the song ‘might’ have been shot with an Infinix.
Released in 2019 under the genre Alternative/Indie, the song featured Nubian Li, King Saha, Irene Ntale, Irene Namatove, Pr Wilson Bugembe, and Dr Hilder Man.
Having been a Luganda classical gospel hymn, it’s right to say that Bobi Wine and his counterparts really did a disservice to the song through their poor music video.
Of course, many people mocked the song, not only because the song is mainly known for religious purposes but also because of the wrong use of words there in.
“The song may not have been composed in heaven but it was dedicated long ago. The more it is disseminated in a questionable context, the more coals heap on the singer’s head – a crown of fire. If the trend continues, there is nothing that stops someone else from taking the Lord’s Prayer and changing its wording for fun or for occult purposes, and so on. That would be very dangerous as far as the highest form of faith is concerned. Bobi Wine has so much to sing about that he can let the one “hit” go if the road it is riding is “zigzag” as he told me six years ago,” wrote Robert Atuhairwe in the Observer of January 2019.
Back to the video
The song was produced by Oyerwot Brenny Daniel alias Sir Dan Magic, a Producer, Beat Maker and Sound Engineer. However, with all his expertise, he still managed to pull off the worst music video that 2019 ever saw.
From the start of the magnificent lyrics, the video quality of the entire song could be rated at a proper 240p meaning it has the worst quality there is. Although through Youtube, one could increase it to 1080p, the quality almost remains unchanged.
All said, the video boasts of 10k likes, 681 dislikes and has over 2,283,443 views.
