The leaders of the Lango Sub-Region have hailed President Museveni and the government of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for prioritizing the peace and security of persons and property and overseeing its progress in the country.

While meeting President Museveni yesterday in Apac district, the leaders thanked the government and promised to vote Mr. Museveni in power again if he can give them the assurance that peace will keep prevailing.

Mr. Museveni, who has rounded up the Lango Sub-Region in the last two days, has been holding daily campaign meetings with elders and youths in Apac, Amolatar, Lira, Otuke, Kwania, Alebtong, Kole, Oyam and Dokolo Districts which elders and youths will in turn, spread the message in door-to-door campaigns that Museveni has opted for in light of COVID-19.

The Lango Sub-Region was hugely affected by Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels for over 20 years but the National Army managed to push them out and they’re suspected to be holed up in the Central African Republic at the moment.

The NRM national Chairman also said roads in Lango will be fixed and maintained, widened and strengthened, citing the Tororo – Mbale – Soroti -Lira – Kamdini and Rwenkunyu roads.
