Forum for Democratic Change Presidential flag bearer Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi has been duly nominated to take on the mantle of trying to beat President Museveni come 2021.

Oboi who is the second party flag bearer in the history of opposition FDC becomes the sixth candidate to be nominated following incumbent Gen. Museveni Tibuhaburwa, Gen. Henry Tumukunde, Gen. Mugisha Muntu, and NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi.

Prior to his nomination, he was abducted by Police from FDC party headquarters in Najjanankumbi and dropped at Kyadondo with his shoes off.

Several other members of the opposition including party spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda were arrested at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi as they gathered up to escort their flag bearer.

“I came to this nomination a prisoner. I wear a lot of bruises on my body and I feel a lot of pain. I was nominated with out shoes; not by choice,” Oboi told journalists minutes after his nomination.

“My candidature is against the 1% that is oppressing the majority 99%. We come to make sure this country is given back to the people.”
