The National Unity Platform (NUP) has revealed that they will be holding a nationwide tour next week as part of the preparation for the forthcoming 2021 general election.

The tour will see NUP officially launch its offices in different regions, meet its candidates and mobilization teams.

The announcement was made by the NUP party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine while addressing the press at their headquarters in Kamwokya on Tuesday morning.

Kyagulanyi said: “Next week, we are going to hold a nation-wide tour where we shall launch our different offices, meet our mobilization teams to empower them and also get a chance to interact with our candidates.”

As the country gears up for the 2021 general election, Kyagulanyi said that this will not be politics as usual and urged all NUP flag bearers to be steadfast.

“We are going into a life-changing campaign period. There is going to be illegal resistance but because of our people, I want to urge all our candidates to develop a tough skin. At the end of it all, the people of Uganda will decide,” Kyagulanyi said.

The Electoral Commission is expected to hold nominations of members of parliament on October 15 and 16 and Kyagulanyi urged the the NUP flag bearers in different constituencies to make the nominations ‘assertive’ saying that this is where the campaigns start.
