Makerere University has set dates for Bachelor of Laws pre-entry examinations for the 2020/2021 academic year.
According to a September 14 document from the academic registrar, Mr Alfred Masikye Namoah, the university will conduct the said exams on October 3 at the university’s main campus in Kampala.
“All candidates who applied for Bachelor of Laws pre-entry examination are hereby invited to come and sit for the said exams on the stated date. The exams shall commence at 9.00 am,” Mr Masikye said in the statement.
He added that the process will be done in observance with the Ministry of Health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aimed at minimising the spread of Covid-19.
Pre-entry are conducted by all students who wish to join the university under Bachelor of Laws.
Students who attain 50 per cent and above are the only ones who qualify to join the course.
At least 70 per cent of students who have been sitting the previous pre-entry exams have failed to attain a pass mark of 50 per cent.
Planned guidelines
Temperatures of all students will be taken before they access the exam room. Candidates shall not be allowed to borrow items such as pencils, rubber, ruler, and calculator from each other. All windows will be opened. Candidates will seated two to four metres apart. There will be mandatory wearing of face masks and sanitisers will be at the examination rooms.
