Kigulu South: NRM halts elections after candidate dies

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) electoral Commission has postponed election in Kigulu south constituency.

This followed the shocking news indicating that one of the contestants in the NRM primary elections in Kigulu South in Iganga district Stephen Wakko had mysteriously passed on.

According to relatives, Wakko died in a motor accident just a few hours to the party primaries where he was to be a candidate.

The accident happened at Kakira, last evening as re turned home. He was then rushed to Jinja regional referral hospital where he died was denounced dead this morning.

His voters have been roused with the saddening news of the death of their candidates, a cloud of sorrow is also hanging at the Busoga diocese where Stephen Wakko has been serving as the in charge of land issues.

The cause of the accident is not yet clear but police is yet to release a statement on that.
