The State Minister for Tourism Hon. Godffrey Kiwanda Ssuubi has this afternoon went against odds and jumped out of elective politics.

Kiwanda was last week voted as the (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Central Region on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) made the declaration this afternoon in a tearful moment.

According to the party leadership, the move was aimed towards allowing the youthful legislator focus more on his CEC roles.

Kiwanda is said to have endorsed his rival Kibedi Nsi Egumire who now expects to run unopposed on the NRM ticket.

Kibedi in 2016 attempted to lead Kampala City Central division on the ruling party ticket but lost the hotly contested seat to Charles Sserunjogi of the Democratic party.
