Makerere University’s Prof. Bazeyo Scoops Shs 185 Billion Health Grant

Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. William Bazeyo has scooped a 185 Billion grant.

Bazeyo, is a Ugandan physician, public health specialist, academic, researcher, and academic administrator. Since September 2017, he has been the in charge of finance and administration at Makerere University.

The good news did not leave several top officials at the Ivory Tower the same seat.

The University Vice Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe congratulated his colleague upon the milestone and wished him the best in all his endeavors citing that he had set the bar so high.

“This UGX 185 billion grant win by Professor William Bazeyo is unprecedented. It’s the largest single grant win by an academician in the history of Uganda.” Nawangwe sated adding that what is important about this grant is that it is to benefit the entire country through Makerere and the Ministry of Health.

This grant specifically meant to health Ministry to set up National and regional Communication platforms to support monitoring and training health information systems, among others.
