The whole of Friday was washed by mixed reactions relating to the clashes between the two famous and top security organizations.

Reports indicated that a combined force of Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) had sealed off city safe houses run by the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), adding that Col. Frank Kaka Bagyenda had also been arrested and whisked away to Mbuya based army headquarters for questioning.

However this website can reliably confirm that Col. Kaka has not been arrested, and State House has not taken over control of safe houses as some media reports indicate.

The ties between ISO and CMI deteriorated about two months ago following the arrest of Simon Peter Odong, an operative attached to ISO’s ICT department. Mr. Odongo, was also arrested alongside two others in connection with committing cybercrime, details of which are yet to be deluged.

Odong was accused among other charges of concocting stories against members of the first family. Based on the contents of his reports, sources have told us, President Yoweri Museveni called a meeting on May 1, 2020, at State House Nakasero which was attended by among others his brother Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho (Salim Saleh) and first son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

On contacting the deputy army spokesman Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki said, “Col Kaka is a presidential appointee, I can’t comment. You may need to speak to the presidency.”
