Maj. Gen (Rtd) Kasirye Ggwanga has this morning passed on at Nakasero hospital, his family confirms.
Ggwanga was admitted at Nakasero hospital not more than five days ago. He has been in the Nakaseero Hospital ICU section ever since.
The general was first admitted at a military hospital in Mbuya where he was being taken care of by military doctors.
Last week, he was rumoured dead, however, his family confirmed that he was simply in critical condition.
Kasirye was born in 1952, in Mubende District, to a father who was a hunter and farmer. Kasirye Ggwanga learned both skills and is still good at both. He attended Katakala Primary School, then he studied at Kibuli Secondary School for his O-Level education.
Major General Kasirye Ggwanga, was a Ugandan senior military officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Force. He was previously incarcerated as a prisoner of war for 897 days, inside both Uganda and Tanzania.
