Yesterday, the Ministry of health confirmed another case of COVID – 19 in Uganda out of the 2,729 samples of truck drivers.
The confirmed case is 39-year-old Kenyan male truck driver who arrived via Malaba.
Efforts to track him are underway.
Fortunately, 201 samples from community all tested Negative for COVID-19.
The community case confirmed on 02 May, from Rakai District has been evacuated to Masaka RRH and his family members are under quarantine
Both Kenyan and Burundian truck drivers who were also confirmed on May 02, have also returned to their respective countries.
It is worth noting that President Museveni will today address the nation as the 21day lockdown comes to an end tomorrow.
“I will address the country tonight at 8pm, guiding on the way forward as the 21-day lockdown extension comes to a close tomorrow. I urge you all to continue observing the guidelines from our health experts as the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic continues,” tweeted the president this morning.
The total COVID-19 confirmed cases in Uganda are now 89.
