Businessman Hassan Basajjablaba has donated UGX 100,000,000 to the national COVID-19 Taskforce to help in the response to the challenges posed by the lockdown that is aimed at curbing the spread of the deadly disease.
This comes after President Yoweri Museveni called upon Ugandans to help by coming forward to support the taskforce that is at the forefront of the covid-19 fight.
Uganda is registering positives in the fight against COVID-19 although some new cases from outside Uganda are posing a danger.
At least 45 people have defeated the virus in Uganda, out of the 63 total positive cases.
Hajj Basajjabalaba who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Kampala International University has been working hard to ensure that KIU Teaching Hospital in Ishaka is ready to handle Coronavirus patients in case of any cases there.
Some of the measures he has helped put in place include establishing a rapid response unit and an isolation ward that holds patients who fit the case definition as per the Ministry of Health and WHO guidelines, COVID-19 awareness sensitization on community radio, and setting up a full-time Information Desk.
