The police have arrested one of their own officers identified as Davis Taremwa in connection with the double murder that happened along the Entebbe Expressway on Thursday night.

Taremwa, a Police Constable attached to Counter Terrorism Unit is said to have been in the company of Joshua Nteireho Ruhegyera and another female victim who has been identified as Merinah and wife to businessman Mark — who owns Gabz Lounge in Bugoloobi.

According to Police spokesman Fred Enanga, Taremwa has been a good friend to Nteireho for the past two years and that the late had asked Taremwa to escort him as he chased a business deal.

According to photos seen by this reporter, Nteireho seems to be a close member of the First Family. In most of his photos on Facebook, Nteireho is seen posing with members of the First Family, referring to Nzeire Shadrack as his uncle in one of the photos. Nzeire is President Yoweri Museveni’s younger brother.

In other photos and videos, Joshua could be seen posing with bundles of money. In of his posts, he seems to be inviting youth to borrow money from his money lending entity.

Below is a video by NTV Uganda in which Fred Enanga explains where police investigations have reached so far.

Meanwhile, the police’s initial report also notes that two cartridges of SMG were found inside the car.

“Two cartridges of an SMG rifle were found inside the car, while Joshua was shot outside the car and behind the car in what seems to be an act of Joshua trying to confront the enemy, was shot on the left upper head ripping through the right side shuttering the brain hence killing him instantly,” reads the police report.
