Forum for Democratic Change President Patrick Amuriat Oboi yesterday survived being beaten but he did not escape the embarrassment as he was barked at by People Power supporters in Hoima.

It is not clear why the People Power goons were charging at Amuriat but it appears they did not want an FDC official at the final rally.

According to sources, Bobi Wine and his group want to take credit for the victory in the Hoima woman MP by-election in case the FDC candidate wins.

Mr Ronald Muhinda, a close associate of Dr Kizza Besigye posted the video in which People Power supporters attempted to beat up Amuriat, praising him for his ‘magnanimity and humility amid extreme provocation and humiliation in Hoima at an FDC rally for an FDC sponsored Candidate Nyakato Asinasi.”

Bambi Patrick Oboi Amuriat. I really appreciate your magnanimity and humility amid extreme provocation and humiliation in Hoima at an FDC rally for an FDC sponsored Candidate Nyakato Asinasi. Yourself, Ingrid Turinawe, Roland Kagyinda held many meetings trying so hard to pursuade Rehema, who held the FDC flag in 2016, to step down for Nyakato. You people tried to prevent a situation where Nyakato would stand as an Independent and yet she was FDC. Now here you are; helpless and humiliated. But you still have to authorize deployment of polling agents, release money for them and their welfare and ensure vote protection. And as a person who came from Reform Agenda, I know when you guys realised that you could not reform NRA/M, although you were from UPC, you decided to form FDC and started a new struggle and building new leaders. If there is need for new struggle, I feel Bobi Wine and group should form a party, build leader sponsor candidates. It's an excruciating and tedious task. But if they have to keep fighting at rallies organised by other political groups and Candidates, there is need to have discipline. FDC has supported many candidates of other parties before but it's supporters have never gone to a rally of another political party whose Candidate they support to embarrass their leaders. Never. That is not how struggles are executed.May be one last one: FDC supporters know one thing- to fight back. When provoked and they choose to fight back, it's brutal. I fear them myself. But luckily, many times, they have leaders who try their best to contain supporters anger. #M7MustGo. #Tubalemese. #EyesontheBall. #BootsontheGround. #EnoughisEnough. #Action2019

It’s an excruciating and tedious task. But if they have to keep fighting at rallies organised by other political groups and Candidates, there is need to have discipline.

FDC has supported many candidates of other parties before but it’s supporters have never gone to a rally of another political party whose Candidate they support to embarrass their leaders. Never. That is not how struggles are executed.

May be one last one: FDC supporters know one thing- to fight back. When provoked and they choose to fight back, it’s brutal. I fear them myself.

But luckily, many times, they have leaders who try their best to contain supporters anger.
