Kadaga Hails Gen Muhoozi’s Great Friendship With Busoga

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga who is a key figure in Busoga has hailed Kyabazinga William Gabula Nadiope IV for making good friends for Busoga Kingdom particularly those outside Busoga and Uganda.

The Speaker who was speaking at the Kyabazinga’s 5th coronation particularly hailed the friendship between the Kyabazinga and the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who graced the celebrations in Jinja on Friday.

Ms. Kadaga noted that the friendship of the two leaders is good for Busoga and Uganda at large.

“I urge both of you to strengthen your friendship so that whatever concerns one of you, concerns the other,” Kadaga told Muhoozi and his host — the Kyabazinga.

Although Gen Muhoozi didn’t speak at the function, he reserved his remarks for social media where expressed gratitude for being invited as a special guest.

After the function, Gen Kainerugaba expressed his gratitude for attending the function in a short message on twitter.

“today (Friday) it was my great honour to join His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV as he celebrated 5 years as Kyabazinga of Busoga. It was a very colourful ceremony. His Highness the Kyabazinga’s 5th Coronation celebrations was truly a joyous event. I thank him and the great people of Busoga for inviting me. God bless Uganda!”

The Kyabazinga responded to this message: “Thank you once again for sharing this happy day with us, words cannot express the gratitude, you made us feel so loved.”

Thousands flock celebrations

Meanwhile, thousands of Busoga royalists thronged Kamira Village, Namagera Parish, Kagoma County in Jinja District to celebrate the fifth coronation anniversary of Kyabazinga (King) of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope IV.

The Kyabazinga, who arrived at the grounds at around 1:30pm was in the company of Gen Muhoozi and the king immediately sounded cultural royal drums to signify his presence as his special guest clapped his hands.

Present were a delegation from cultural institutions including the Umukuka of Bamasaba, Bob Mushikori, Buganda Kingdom, which was represented by the second deputy Prime Minister, Waggwa Nsibirwa and delegates from abroad among others.

The Kyabazinga hailed the kingdom for its development, industrialization, education, technological advancement, digital transformation and support to government programmes.

“The kyabazingaship has registered tremendous success over the years due to your support and I want to thank you.

“The past five years has seen education blossom due to the cooperation between the kingdom and the schools; about 7,000 have gained access to primary, secondary and tertiary education,” he said.
