Members of Parliament from West Nile have threatened to leave Uganda and go to the Democratic Republic of Congo if Evelyn Anite is assassinated.

Under their umbrella body, the West Nile Parliamentary Group said their attention has been drawn to death threats allegedly issued to their colleague.

They said they cannot take it as a light matter considering what happened to former MP Arua Municipality Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga who they said received similar threats before he was assassinated.

Anite told a press conference yesterday that mafias in government are trailing her with a plan to assassinate her for her stance in the over her stance on probing Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL).
