Crucified NRM Supporter Transferred to Private Hospital as Lumumba, Bebe Cool Visit

The National Resistance Movement Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba and musician Bebe Cool are some of the people that have so far visited the NRM the 21-year old Baker Kasumba who was attacked by suspected opposition elements.

Ms Lumumba said the ruling party will ensure that the suspects are brought to book and pledged to facilitate the hospital bills for the young man.

“Today, our Secretary General Justine Lumumba visited Kasumba Baker, our supporter who was assaulted by mysterious criminals yesterday,” the NRM party tweeted. “She sympathized with him, & assured him the party will, in addition to footing his medical bills, ensure that his assailers are brought to book,” NRM party tweeted.

Kasumba, a resident of Avis Kivulu in Kawempe Division was on Wednesday night attacked by two unidentified men believed to be opposition supporters.

He was hit on the head and left unconscious with his hands nailed together before nails were punched through his hands.

She called on political leaders to strongly condemn and discourage their supporters from politically driven acts of violence because they are barbaric.

“Politics is supposed to unite us to better ourselves not be the reason we lose our lives or suffer injuries,” Lumumba said.

Many Ugandans have condemned the barbaric act on social media with some physically visiting Kasumba to express solidarity.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Kasumba has been transferred from Mulago Hospital to a private facility to receive the best treatment.
