Opposition Questions Police Over Stopping Bobi Wine Concert

The opposition has put position the police under pressure to explain why they stopped Bobi Wine’s concert on Wednesday.

This is an event that the musician who is now Kyadondo East Member of Parliament organizes annually.

However, following the declaration of his political difference from the reigning National Resistance Movement that is in power to lead a camp that has been dabbed ‘People Power’, his ability to perform as an artiste has been frustrated at many occasions.

Last week, the issue of canceling Bobi Wine’s concerts was accorded close attention by the speaker, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga and it was resolved that the artiste be left to perform.

The morning of his boxing day at One Love Beach, Busabala however depicted heavy deployment of police that saw to spraying teargas among people that had gathered to access the grounds of the show.

It is on this basis that the Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP), Betty Aol Ochan is questioning the police about their actions.

She argued that the police undermined a resolution made by the parliament.

The police submitted that Bobi Wine did not fulfill the requirements that he needed for his show to happen.
