Kanungu District in High Spirits Ahead of Road and Youth Fish Farming Project Launches

The residents of Kanungu are in high spirits to welcome the President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to their district tomorrow.

This is because of the intensive mobilization that is taking place in preparation for the groundbreaking of Rukungiri-Kanungu-Kihihi road project as well as the Youth Fish Farming Project.

This mobilization has been spearheaded by Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the State Minister for Housing and Member of Parliament Kinkizi East and Dixon Kagurusi Ampumuza, the former National Resistance Movement Aspirant for Member of Parliament Kinkizi West seat with the help of NRM leaders and Youth NRM leaders headed by Nasasira Eliab.

It should be remembered that a demonstration that led to the arrest of individuals that were disgruntled about the state of the road including Dixon Kagurusi Ampumuza was held on the basis of the promise made by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to work on the road as he campaigned for his seat of presidency in 2016.

This indicates that the demonstration yielded results as a wakeup call to the government of Uganda as to the ideologies that were stipulated for accomplishment in the 2016 NRM manifesto.

This launch will increase the number of nationwide projects being handled by the Uganda National Roads Authority in the bid to elevate the road transport in the nation.

All key stakeholders have been urged to be part and parcel of this event that is bound to inevitable trigger development in Kanungu as a whole.
