BOU Security Officers Remanded for Negligence

The Bank of Uganda officers that were arrested for investigation have been remanded this afternoon.

These have been charged with negligence due to the disappearance of vital documents for the close banks.

These officers Beatrice Kyambadde and Charles Mollo were incharge of security to at the entry points former BoU executive director for Supervision, Justine Bagyenda used on the day that three bags disappeared.

The two individuals appeared before City Hall Court in Kampala and were charged for negligence before remand to Luzira to return the 6th day of December.

This is after they did not make the necessary checks as stipulated by the bank’s security manual.

Meanwhile, Justine Bagyenda’s passport were confiscated by the parliamentary committee to ascertain her availability during the investigation of the closure of certain banks.

It ought to be remembered that the parliamentary committee also ordered the arrest of Bagyenda’s bodyguard, Juliet Adikot and driver, Job Turyahabwe who submitted contradictory testimonies for investigation on the journey of Bagyenda on the day the three bags were returned to the central bank.
