Government Declares Friday as Public Day of National Mourning

The government of Uganda has declared Friday the 30th of November as a public day of national mourning.

This has been done to gazette a day of mourning for the people that perished in a catastrophic boat accident on Lake Victoria last Saturday.

Flags will also be flown at a half-mast and also places of worship have been hailed to dedicate special prayers for the souls of the faithful departed.

It is to this accord that we are all called to officially take note of this day and avail it the necessitated attention but most importantly note that it is not a public holiday.
