Police operatives raided Ms Edith Byanyima’s home in Muyenga, a Kampala suburb over what her sister Winnie has described as activities related to the Bobi Wine’s People Power.
Two patrol cars were on Wednesday seen at Edith’s home which, according to Winnie was being searched by the detectives because her sister is believed to have been distributing People Power T-shirts and other campaign materials.
Edith is a sister to Winnie Byanyima, the wife of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye.
“We understand that the Deputy IGP ordered the search. We’ve also learnt that Edith is suspected to be distributing People Power T-Shirts. I know Edith has been energised by the People Power Movt. If she is safe, she’s probably happily defiant!” said Winnie on Twitter.
