Just last month, theUganda reported exclusively on how the Kampala Capital City Authority was in advanced stages of organizing the 7th Kampala City Carnival but the plans were canceled after an order from government to immediately halt the preparations.

This would come to be the last straw that broke the camel’s back. And it is no surprise that finally, KCCA ED Jennifer Musisi has made her resignation public.

In fact, after the cancellation of the carnival which was Musisi’s brain child, she immediately took her leave.

Our sources told us that she was frustrated since the carnival which was increasingly becoming popular and successful was stopped.

We have also established from credible sources that the slashing of the KCCA budget, failure to meet President Yoweri Museveni has also contributed to Musisi’s decision.

In a letter announcing her decision, Musisi listed a number of achievements registered during her time the authority boss.

“Your Excellency, over the last seven and half years, we have made progress towards transforming Kampala,” reads the letter.

On Twitter, she posted: “an arduous and yet very exciting journey”.
