At least 40 agencies, commissions and authorities have been merged, collapsed or reorganized to ensure non-duplication of functions and reduction of the burden on the tax payer.
Among those sent to parent ministries are Uganda National Roads Authority, Uganda Wild Life Authority which will now operate as small departments under the ministry of Works and Transport and Ministry of Water and Environment respectively.
