Former Buyende District and Old Kampala police commander Muhammad Kirumira has been shot dead this evening alongside his wife.
Reports indicate that his wife is still fighting for her life at the crime scene after suffering bullet wounds.
Kirumira was shot dead while driving towards his gate in Bulenga.

The killers are said to have been riding on boda bodas just like it has been in the case of previous high profile murders in the country.
Kirumira now joins a growing list of high profile Ugandans including fellow police officer Andrew Felix Kaweesi and Ibrahim Abiriga the former Arua Municipality MP.
Kirumira made his name out of criticizing the institution that he served as an officer.
