The family of the slain Bobi Wine’s driver Yasin Kawuma has finally swallowed their pride and accepted the condolence cash from president Museveni.
The condolence message came with Shs20million to help in paying fees and looking after Yasin Kawuma’s windows.
Close family members of Bobi Wine’s driver had on Sunday rejected the money President Museveni sent to them in a condolence message through singer Catherine Kusasira.
The money was delivered to the widows in the presence of Kawuma’s father.
Although the family had told Kusasira to return on Thursday after they had made consultations, they decided to recall her for the money they desperately need.
Conflict erupts
Meanwhile, there was drama as one of the widows said that Kawuma’s father who wanted to take the money should not take it.
She argued that the old man did not care about them adding that she had never seen him.
Her emotions had been triggered by a statement from Kawuma’s father who said that beneficiaries of the money would only be those whose children had been proven to be Kawuma’s children with a DNA confirmation.
After an bitter exchange, the old man pulled a bundle of cash that this reporter could not estimate and handed it to the angry widow, warning her never to appear before him even in times of trouble.
