The National Forest Authority (NFA) has embarked on an exercise to assess the level of encroachment the 19 forest reserves in Buvuma District.
The 19 are scattered on various Islands.
Last week, a team of NFA officials visited the district to establish the number of encroachers on the forest reserves.
The NFA Communications Manager, Aisha Alibhai, says they will engage the stakeholders after the assessment and ask the encroachers to voluntarily vacate the reserves.
Lillian Nakaweesi, the Buvuma Resident District Commissioner, says the level of encroachment on the forest reserves is alarming.
She asked the encroachers to vacate before they are pushed.
