Speaker Kadaga Supends Parliament Over Bobi Wine’s Detention

The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has suspended the House over what she described as the illegal detention of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, Gerald Karuhanga, Francis Zaake and Paul Mwiru.

The Speaker suspended the House  for one hour as she waits for an explanation for the responsible ministry.

Mr Kyagulanyi was arrested on Monday night from Arua following the shooting which claimed the life of his driver Yasin Kawuma.

Police spokesperson, Mr Emilian Kayima on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of Bobi Wine and some other lawmakers including; Francis Zaake (Mityana Municipality); Gerald Karuhanga (Ntungamo Municipality); and Paul Mwiru (Jinja Municipality).
