The Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has declared Sheema County North Seat Vacant.
This was after the area MP Dr Elioda Tumwesigye took oath to represent Sheema Municipality in the 10th Parliament.
Elioda Tumwesigye was recently declared the first MP for Sheema Municipality by the District returning officer Deborah Asiimwe.
Tuwmesigye, who has been MP for Sheema North, polled 13,590 votes against 11,489 votes for FDC’s Virginia Plan Mugyenyi.
Justifying his move to run for another seat, Tumwesigye who is also the Minister of science, technology and innovations said that he contested for the Sheema municipality because he did not want opposition to win the seat like they had done in other municipalities.
