Former Golf Union President Kiryowa Kiwanuka Named Express FC Chairman

President Yoweri Museveni’s lawyer Kiryowa Kiwanuka has replaced Youth and Children Affairs State Minister Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi as the new Express Football Club chairman.

Hassan Bulwadda was the interim chairperson after the sacking of Ms Nakiwala who was thrown out of the club over concerns of mismanagement.
“The company appoints/nominates Kiryowa Kiwanuka as club and board chairman for a period of three years,” a club statement.

KK, as he is fondly called by his peers promised to rejuvenate the club spirit which he calls home.

“I was born in Express. I have always known Express as a family. I intend build this bond again,” said Mr Kiryowa.

According to the New Vision, Kiwanuka is a grandson of the club’s founder member Jolly Joe Kiwanuka and a son of former chairman Jimmy Mugambe Kiwanuka.

KK has previously served the sports fraternity the Uganda Golf Union president from 2014-15.
