Brig Kandiho (C) was surrounded by protesters as he toured Kisekka Market

Following sporadic protests in Kampala and surrounding suburbs over Bobi Wine’s detention at Kiruddu hospital, the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) commander, Brig Abel Kandiho decided to go to the ground and interact with business people and protesters in the city.

Among the places he visited was Kisekka Market where protesters tasked him to explain why Bobi Wine was barred from travelling to the US for treatment.

The protesters, most of them youths attempted to get closer to Brig Kandiho but the UPDF officer told them to keep a distance.

Kandiho who was guarded by soldiers was surrounded by the protesters as he engaged soldiers manning the streets but never spoke to the protesters who kept asking him to explain the detention of Bobi Wine and Francis Zaake.

Mr Kyagulanyi and MP Francis Zaake were on blocked on Thursday at Entebbe International Airport as they attempted to fly to the US and India respectively for specialized treatment following the injuries they sustained during the Arua Municipality by-election fracas.

Brig Kandiho tasked soldiers to explain why some shops were seen closed yet the soldiers are supposed to ensure normal business where they are deployed.
