The Police have denied holding Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine.
Last evening, Bobi Wine’s driver identified as Yasin Kawooya was shot dead while in Bobi Wine’s Tundra car. After the shooting, Bobi Wine claimed in a tweet that the Police had shot his driver dead but bragged that he had escaped.
Although it was believed that Kyagulanyi had been arrested together with his colleagues during the chaos, Police said they do not have him.
Barbie Kyagulanyi, Bobi Wine’s wife last night issued a brief statement expressing concern about her husband’s life. This was after Kawuma had been reported dead.
Unconfirmed reports indicate hat Kyagulanyi was arrested after a combined security force raided and cordoned off a hotel in which he was set to sleep. Latest reports say the singer turned politician has been airlifted from Arua to Entebbe.
However, none of the security agencies including military police and Special Forces command have spoken out about Bobi Wine’s whereabouts.
The whole fracas started when supporters believed to be of Kassiano Wadri blocked the President’s motorcade before smashing one of the cars in the convoy.
It is said that the president was in the car whose hind window was smashed.
Bobi Wine was in Kassiano Wadri’s camp while President Museveni was in Arua to campaign for Ms Nusura Tiperu-the NRM candidate.
Dr Kizza Besigye was also in Arua to canvass support support for Bruce Musema of the FDC. Besigye was however not involved in the chaos.
