Former Police spokesman Asan Kasingye who is the current Chief Political Commissar survived being beaten by angry mourners during the burial of Samuel Ssekiziyivu who was on Sunday shot dead as police battled rioters in Mityana Town.

The man who has since been described as an innocent victim of circumstances by IGP Okoth Ochola was not part of protesters.

The usually calm and composed Kasingye was in the company of Mr Phillip Apaye, the Wamala regional police commander and other officers.

Kasingye attempted to speak to the mourners but he was told to keep quiet as mourners told all the officers in uniform to vacate.

They accused the police of killing an innocent son of their area. In the end, Kasingye and other officers walked away and entered their cars and drove off.

This website understands that two police officers are under investigation of the shooting.
