The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Martin Okoth Ochola has transferred the District Police Commander (DPC) of Arua following an attack on the Presidential motorcade last evening.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Abbas Ssenyonjo has been sent to Masaka District with Immediate effect, according to a message signed by the Director Human Resource Administration Moses Balimwoyo at 12:43 pm today.

Ssenyonjo is replaced with Henry Kintu, formerly, the District Police Commander of Masaka.

Ssenyonjo was in charge of the security of Arua Municipality during yesterday’s final campaign but is alleged to have failed to control the crowds leading to an attack and obstruction of the Presidential Motorcade by opposition supporters.
