Former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi hosted top guns in the country and beyond including President Museveni and South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa at his Kololo residence.
For Ramaphosa, it was highly expected since his son, Andile was in Uganda to honour one of the traditional wedding rituals as he officially gets married to Bridget Birungi wh is Amama’s niece.
President Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni were among those that arrived early for the Saturday function.
Andile’s mother, Hope Ramaphosa was also in attendance.
Other prominent people that attended the function included top ministers in the top South African cabinet while Uganda’s Prime Minster Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga, Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi, and city tycoon Amos Nzeyi.
Chief Justice Bart Katurebe, the governor of the Central Bank, Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebire, Archbishop Stanley Ntagali, businessman Gordon Wavamunno and other special guests from such as Mr Spero Byokunda were also present.
Security was tight and well spread both within and outside Amama’s plush home in Kololo where the function took place.
The after party
Ugandans and South Africans were, after the function at home treated to all types of drinks and eats at no cost until Sunday morning at Riders Club on Acacia Road for the top affluent Kampala businessmen and inner circles.
Both Ramaphosa and Bridget joined the invited guest and the two were seen freely interacting with the guests and they seemed to enjoy every moment until morning.
And from the look of things from last night, Andile is an outgoing and free-styled person as much as his partner Bridget. Next media boss Kin Kariisa and Giles Muhame of chimp reports were among media personalities in attendance.
