Most Ugandans on social media have been commenting about Judith Babirye and her new husband Paul Musoke Sebulime, a fellow MP representing Buikwe North.

However many have not looked back at the gospel singer’s past relationship. The singer turned MP has gone on record about her abusive relationship with Samuel Niwo with whom they have a daughter.

Narrating her story during a Mother’s Day dinner at Serena Hotel, among the things she said was the saddening news of her attempt at suicide because of her former relationship.

“I got out of marriage when it was too much. I reached a point of poisoning myself but I had to hold on for what the future might bring,” Babirye said.

“I came from the village but look, I drive a V8 now, and I am in Parliament. I carried sacks of charcoal and never dreamt of coming to Kampala but now I eat at Kampala Serena Hotel.”

Babirye filed for divorce recently saying that her marriage had been unworkable as her husband had turned her into a ‘drum’ amid disrespectful behavior.

Babirye is now set to enjoy a comfortable relationship after her introduction ceremony

Babirye’s lastest introduction ceremony at the Country Lake Resort Hotel, Garuga. We wish her the best.
