There has been a persistent claim that Ivan Semwanga faked his death and that he is hiding in Lebanon.
The rumor which spread very fast after Ivan’s burial on Tuesday in Kayunga suggests that the former Rich Gang president snatched huge sums of money from a South African woman and decided to stage manage his death.
Some people have created WhatsApp groups to discuss the matter while others are using various hash tags to probe Ivan’s possible death.
The discussion stems from the fact that no pictures of Ivan’s body have been seen.
The family has however said that they asked security to block photography of Ivan’s lifeless body.
Nevertheless, some images showing Ivan’s body with his face have also emerged but doubters say they have been manufactured in photography software.
This has now forced Ivan’s aunt, Lukia Mukalazi to come out to clear the air.
According to Ivan’s aunt, Ivan is dead and buried and that the public should stop the emotional torture by claiming that Ivan’s is alive.
Mukalazi who is believed to have raised Ivan’s after the death of his mother said that the rumor is misplaced.
Mukalazi who was among those that received Ivan’s body said that she thoroughly checked her nephew’s body to confirm that it was Ivan’s.
It is common for people to check bodies of their loved ones especially when they aren’t there when their people die.
Mukalazi said that she knew Ivan’s birthmarks very well adding that those spreading the rumor are heartless and should stop.
