This weekend provides the busiest schedule in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) with seven matches and 14 teams in action on Friday and Saturday.

Table leaders SC Villa do not play until Saturday when they welcome Bul at Masaka Recreation Grounds.

But before then, champions KCCA will have a chance to reclaim table leadership on Friday when they travel to Namboole to face Police.

This game will reunite KCCA manager Mike Mutebi and his one time apprentice cum predecessor Abdallah Mubiru.

“My strategy is to win and if it fails I will settle for a draw,” said Mubiru, “We have it in our minds that we are preparing to face the reigning champions.”

Mutebi, who will be without defender Timothy Awany (hamstring) and striker Robert Ssentongo (malaria), has demanded that charges respond swiftly to the 1-1 draw at Soana on Tuesday.

“Police is a very organized team with a good coach. We have to go there and perform because we have a competent team,” said Mutebi.

Third-placed Vipers, who whipped Proline in their last encounter, visit struggling Jinja SSS at Kakindu.

On Saturday, Villa will be seeking to keep in charge of events when they host Bul in Masaka.

The Jogoos have 44 points from 22 games but have played three more games than second-placed KCCA.

“Experience tells us we just have to win our games because that is what we have control over,” Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa has consistently said.

Bbosa has overseen a run of three wins in four games since taking charge at the end of February with striker Emma Okwi rediscovering his scoring touch with five of his seven goals coming in that sequence.
